Lofi Engine – Privacy Policy

Effective date: 6 October 2026

Short version: Lofi Engine has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. The music, your settings and your tasks stay on your phone. We do not collect, sell or share your personal data.

1. Who we are

Lofi Engine is an Android app that generates lofi music and shows animated scenes. This policy applies to the app and to this website, lofiengine.com. Contact: support@lofiengine.com.

2. Data that stays on your device

The app stores the following only on your phone, in its private storage. We cannot see it, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data:

your settings (music style, volume, language, chosen background and ambient sound, share options);
your focus-timer state, tasks, saved presets and the optional name you type for the share signature;
background pictures you choose from your gallery. They are copied into the app's private storage and never uploaded;
a local record of what you have unlocked (see section 4).

3. Permissions we ask for, and why

Notifications: to show the music controls and to tell you when a focus or break period ends.
Foreground service (media playback) and wake lock: to keep the music playing with the screen off.
Exact alarms: so the focus timer ends on time. Where Android does not allow it, the app falls back to a normal alarm.
Vibration: a small haptic response when you tap things.
Storage (Android 9 and older only): to save a picture or video you chose to share. On newer Android versions the app uses the system gallery API and needs no storage permission.

The app does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone, calendar or advertising ID.

4. Purchases

The first scene is free. The other scenes can be unlocked with one-time purchases (a single scene, or Pro for all scenes). Payments are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your card or payment details. The app asks Google Play which items your Google account owns, and keeps a local copy so unlocked scenes keep working offline. 5. Sharing a picture or video

When you tap Share, the app creates a picture or a short video on your phone and hands it to the app you choose (or saves it to your gallery). Nothing is sent to us. What happens afterwards is governed by the app you share it with.

6. Network use, third parties and children

The app does not send your data to our servers, because it does not have any. Its only network activity is the connection to Google Play for purchases.
No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services are built into the app. Google Play itself may give us aggregated, anonymous statistics (for example installs and crash counts).
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.

7. Your choices

You can revoke any permission in Android Settings, clear the app's data or uninstall it at any time, which removes everything described in section 2. Purchases are tied to your Google account and can be restored with "Restore purchases" in Settings.
